The perspective projection does not preserve lengths or angles, but gives a strong illusion of depth as objects appear smaller the farther they are from the observer.

Cube in perspective

The cube (8 vertices, 12 edges, 6 square faces) in perspective projection has three vanishing points, one for each of the three sets of parallel edges. All the three sets of parallel edges of the cube in 3D each converge to a common vanishing point in the illustration. The boundary of the figure is an irregular hexagon.

The model Breadth & Length & Depth & Height is a perspective construction depicting the hypercube (16 vertices, 32 edges, 24 square faces, 8 cubical cells) with four vanishing points. All the four sets of parallel edges of the hypercube in 4D each converge to a common vanishing point in the 3D construction. Furthermore, all the six sets of parallel faces of the hypercube each converge to a common horizon line. The boundary of the figure is an irregular rhombic dodecahedron.
